Wayne Morris | Opera Director & Vocal Coach

Born in New Zealand his initial studies were in Fine and Applied Art at Dunedin School of Art and Otago University. He joined the National Opera of New Zealand as a young artist, then a major grant from the QE2 Arts Council of New Zealand led to further study in London. Singing engagements followed in the UK, Germany and Asia.

Alongside his work as a singer he began to develop his skills as an opera director, creating productions for Pavilion Opera, Morely Opera, Haddo House Opera and Diva Opera. He was appointed Director of Productions at Diva Opera, during which time they developed into Britain’s leading touring chamber opera company, highly acclaimed for performances throughout the UK and Europe and working with many of Europe’s finest singers.

Now residing in Rochester, Kent, he continues his work as an international opera and music theatre director and teacher, utilising both his extensive experience as a performer and his artist’s vision.
